INNOVATION SUMMITS ― THE BEAUTY OF SCIENCE IN PHOTOGRAPHY

Science knows no borders. International research teams work together on groundbreaking projects to pave the way for innovation. To deepen and strengthen this scientific potential, collaborations between the countries need to be fostered. Thus, the Polish-Swiss Research Program was born, as one of the first five-year collaboration projects between Switzerland and Eastern Europe. A total of 48 institutes, including the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), participated in the program between 2011 and 2016. Now PARK INNOVAARE invites you to learn more about the program itself and the research projects implemented, and to contemplate the beauty of science captured in photographs taken by Marcin Zieba and exhibited at the deliveryLAB.

For five years, research has been conducted in five scientific areas: information and communication technologies, energy and renewable energy sources, nanotechnologies, health, and environment. Over 500 scientists from Poland and Switzerland worked together within the program on a number of innovative projects.

For example, the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) in collaboration with the Poznan University of Technology conducted a research study which in the future will enable the construction of electrochemical capacitors, known as supercapacitors. This technology is already being used to power public transportation vehicles and to support engine operation in electric and hybrid cars. However, for it to reach its full market potential, researchers must first get a better understanding of the most important processes related to electricity storage. This is what this joint project aimed to achieve.

“Science knows no country, because knowledge belongs to humanity, and is the torch which illuminates the world.” Louis Pasteur

Now PARK INNOVAARE invites you to learn more about the program itself and the research projects implemented, and to contemplate the beauty of science captured in photographs taken by Marcin Zieba and exhibited at the deliveryLAB, as you walk through the research labs where many groundbreaking discoveries were made.
